Pre-Fall 2012 : Chanel
“We’ve had Paris-London, we’ve had Paris-Shanghai, so it felt like time to go off the circuit, to somewhere less expected,” said Karl Lagerfeld after Tuesday’s Chanel’s Métiers d’Art show, entitled Paris-Bombay. “And Coco [Chanel] loved Indian jewelry. But it’s not a cheap tourist tour of India! It was sophisticated, no?”
Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012 Metiers d’Art runway show guests were seated at an elaborate banquet set up in the Grand Palais in Paris, where they were served champagne, guava juice, tea, and miniature cakes and sandwiches. An antique silver train with the double-C Chanel logo ran around the central banquet table.
The Paris-Bombay-themed collection, inspired by the jewels, colors, and fabrics of India, was accented by nose rings and twisted dreadlock updos. John Lennon’s “Instant Karma!” played on the soundtrack.via vogue & fashionologie
Pre-Fall 2012: Burberry
Christopher Bailey was in a demure state of mind while designing the Burberry Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Colors are muted, waists are nipped while hemlines run longer, and half of the evening gown options have sleeves. A whiff of the ’30s also runs through, between the chrysanthemum print dresses and the ruched bow belts that played a part in almost every look.

Pre-Fall 2012 : Donna Karan
Donna Karan described her Pre-Fall 2011 collection in one word — “Wo-Man” — noting: “We have to remember there is a man in every woman.” Feminine touches like oversized bows at the waist and pleated dresses were juxtaposed with shrunken leather jackets and masculine pantsuits.via fashionologie
